Skerries bikes back in 1930's

Resurrected from the vaults of Pathé News, rare moments lost in time as racing motor cycles tore through the town for the movies ……back in the 1930’s.

WELL over three quarters or a century ago, liability insurance doesn’t seem to have been much of an issue.  Skerries people were made of such stern stuff they allowed the roaring racing motorcycles of the time to tear right through the town………The footage below has been resurrected from the world-famous Pathé news service.

The Leinster 200 was replaced by the Skerries 100 in 1946, and the Skerries 100 was run on this track right up to 1963   Enjoy !
